The Modern ‘Green’ Revolution: How our Legal Assistance can help you stay in the game.

Cannabis is the medicine of tomorrow. Cannabis is going to be huge in the near future. Both from a market availability point of view, as well as from a consumerist point of view, medicinal marijuana is going to be huge in the US. At the same time, it is going to be readily accepted.

But the problem with cannabis/marijuana is that it’s still not legalized under the federal law of the US Constitution. Now, you must be wondering what’s gonna happen if marijuana is legal according to the state laws and illegal as per the Federal law? Let me give you a snippet of the Supremacy Clause which would help you understand better. The clause clearly specifies the federal laws and treaties to be the supreme law of the land, which means federal laws are prevalent over state laws. That’s really a complicated legal issue I must say.

However, the good news is that the tide is gradually changing as many states have started legalizing it, though at an unprecedented pace. Nearly one-third of Americans currently reside in a state where cannabis is or will soon be legally procured/sold for adult use. We know that 36 states and 4 territories in the USA have allowed the medical use of cannabis, whereas 19 states have allowed for its recreational purposes. This proves that over half of the US voters support legislation for legalizing cannabis in the United States.

Now the most fascinating fact is that this wave of green legislation is still continuing. According to a Gallup poll conducted last year, 68 percent of voters supported the federal legalization of cannabis. Even in November (2020), every cannabis-related ballot measure was put to voters to legalize cannabis for recreational use, including those in conservative Mississippi, Montana, and South Dakota. Then again in July 2021, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden (D-OR), and Sen.Cory Booker (D-NJ) unveiled the first draft of a long-anticipated Senate bill to federally legalize marijuana under the Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act.

This ‘wonder drug’ is said to have medicinal values which are used to treat several health issues, like pain control, nausea, glaucoma, and other neuro problems. Medical marijuana is also reported to help patients suffering from pain and wasting syndrome associated with HIV, as well as irritable bowel syndrome and so on. Therefore, Cannabis has got a huge impact on modern-day medical science.

Time is changing so fast that big businesses like Amazon and other companies have started supporting this movement by declaring their support for decriminalizing weed. This is surely a great effort for gearing up small entrepreneurs or businesses to venture into this lucrative & profitable sector. So, now it’s for the government to decide when to end the federal prohibition on cannabis and open up markets for the cannabis industry. Until then, for all kinds of legal assistance, get yourself or your company the best attorney of our firm to avoid any sort of legal hazards and keep exploring the all-new, profitable cannabis industry.
